# FAQ

Frequently asked questions about VoiceStats.

## Can I view all-time statistics for free?

Yes. Every server can view the complete history VoiceStats has recorded in stats cards and voice, channel, and message leaderboards. Premium is not required.

Charts do not offer an all-time view. Free servers can use the standard chart periods, while custom 1–30 day periods require Premium.

## Why isn't VoiceStats counting my voice time?

There may be a few reasons why your voice time is not being recorded. Please check the following situations:

### 1. Minumum 30 seconds

Make sure you have spent at least **30 seconds** in a voice channel.

### 2. The member or channel might have been added to the filters.

The member or channel might have been added to the filters. If added, voice time will not be recorded. Use the `/settings` command or the web [Dashboard](https://voicestats.xyz/dashboard) to check your filters.

### 3. It might be an AFK channel

Time spent in the inactive (AFK) channel set in your server settings is not counted by VoiceStats.

To verify this, go to the "Engagement" section in your server settings, scroll down, and look for "Inactive Channel." If your users are in the AFK channel set here, their time won't be counted.

## Which permissions does VoiceStats require?

| Permission           | Usage                                             |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------------- |
| View Channel | Required to view voice channels. |
| Send Messages | Required to respond to commands. |
| Embed Links | Required to send embeds. |
| Attach Files | Required to send statistic images and charts. |
| Read Message History | Required to view and edit older messages. |
| Use External Emojis | Required for VoiceStats to use its custom emojis. |

Some modules need additional permissions only when you enable their related features:

| Feature                   | Additional requirement                                                                                                                                                                                     |
| ------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Role Rewards | **Manage Roles**. VoiceStats' highest role must also be above every reward role. |
| Giveaway winner role | **Manage Roles** is required only when a winner role is selected. VoiceStats' role must be above that role. |
| Pin Leaderboard | In the selected channel, VoiceStats needs **View Channel**, **Send Messages**, **Attach Files**, and **Read Message History** so it can publish and update the panel. It does not pin the Discord message. |
| Role Reward announcements | VoiceStats needs **View Channel** and **Send Messages** in the selected announcement channel. |

Server owners and members with **Administrator** permission can open a server in the Dashboard. Giveaway commands and the **End Giveaway** / **Reroll Giveaway** message actions are also Administrator-only.

If VoiceStats is not working as expected, a server administrator can run `/debug` in the affected channel to check the bot's effective permissions and server diagnostics.

## Can I change the time unit or time zone displayed in the statistics?

Yes, you can change the displayed **time unit** and the **Time Zone** from the `/settings` command or via the web [Dashboard](https://voicestats.xyz/dashboard).

## VoiceStats commands are not visible/usable?

If the slash commands are not visible on a server where you added VoiceStats, you might not have added the bot correctly. Please check the following steps in order:

### 1. Re-invite the Bot

Try re-inviting the bot to your server: [Invite Bot](https://voicestats.xyz/invite). This can refresh any command registrations that might have been missed during the initial setup.

### 2. Check the 50 Bots Limit

If you still cannot see the slash commands, ensure your server does not have more than 50 bots. Discord supports slash commands for up to 50 bots. If this limit is exceeded, commands for some bots may fail to appear.

### 3. Review Role Permissions

If users on your server cannot see or use the bot's slash commands, ensure the <mark style="color:blue;">Use Application Commands</mark> permission is enabled in their roles. Without this permission, regular members cannot interact with slash commands.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/docs/use-application-commands.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### 4. Verify Integration Settings

If users on your server still cannot see or use the bot's slash commands, go to the server settings under the <mark style="color:blue;">Integrations</mark> section, select VoiceStats, and make sure the `@everyone` and `#All Channels` settings are enabled

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/docs/integrations.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## How can I open the VoiceStats Dashboard?

Open the [VoiceStats Dashboard](https://voicestats.xyz/dashboard) and sign in with Discord. Select a server you own or where you have **Administrator** permission to view its statistics, settings, filters, and modules.

You can also run `/dashboard` in Discord to get the Dashboard link.

## Server Stats and Server Chart Statistics Are Not the Same

For example, in the `/server stats` command, 10 unique users may appear over the last 30 days, while in the `/server chart` command, only 7 unique users may be shown. The reason for this is that the chart does not sum up all unique users during that time period; instead, it shows the number of unique users separately for each time interval on the chart. In the given example, if those 10 unique users were not in voice channels during the same time interval and at most 7 unique users were active at any given time, this discrepancy occurs. Therefore, this is not a bug.

# Profile Appearance

Choose your personal Web Leaderboard card color and Premium stats and chart background from your VoiceStats account.

Open the account menu in the top-right corner of the website and select **Profile**. Settings on this page belong to your own VoiceStats account, not to one server.

## Web Leaderboard Card

Choose the color used on your own card whenever you appear on a public or private Web Leaderboard. The preview shows how the color will look before you save it.

Select **Use default** to return to the standard card color.

{% hint style="info" %}
The Web Leaderboard card color is free. It does not require personal or server Premium.
{% endhint %}

## Your Stats & Chart Background

With an active personal Premium membership, you can choose one preset background for stats and chart images created about you.

The background belongs to the member shown in the image. This means your choice is used for your own stats and charts even when another member opens one of your user statistics commands. It applies across servers where VoiceStats generates your personal stats or chart.

Your personal choice takes priority over a server's [Banners](/dashboard/banners) setting for your stats and charts. It does not replace the background of server-wide leaderboard images.

Choose **Default** to stop using a personal preset. VoiceStats will then use the server background when one is available, or the standard background otherwise.

{% hint style="info" %}
Personal stats and chart backgrounds require an active Premium membership on your own account. A server's Premium status does not unlock this personal setting.
{% endhint %}

## Save Changes

After changing either setting, use **Save changes** in the bar at the bottom of the page. **Reset** restores the last saved selections before you save.

# Settings

Configure shared server preferences used by VoiceStats modules from one dashboard page.

The **Settings** page under **Manage server** contains preferences shared by VoiceStats modules.

## Server Language

The server language controls module-generated content for:

* Giveaways created from the Dashboard
* Role Rewards
* Pin Leaderboard
* Future VoiceStats modules that support localized output

New server settings default to English (`en-US`). The same value can be changed from the bot's `/settings` menu.

This is a server-wide preference. Modules do not maintain separate language settings. A giveaway created with the `/giveaway` command uses the language of the person who creates it instead.

# Banners

Choose one preset background for stats, leaderboard, and chart images created by VoiceStats in your server.

The **Banners** page controls the shared background used in images that VoiceStats generates for a server. Open the server in the Dashboard and select **Manage server → Banners**.

## Choose a Server Background

Select one of the available background presets and save your changes. One preset is used for all generated stats, leaderboard, and chart images in that server.

Choose **Default** if you want to return to the standard VoiceStats background.

Only the presets shown on the page can be selected. You do not need to upload an image or enter an image URL.

{% hint style="info" %}
Server canvas backgrounds require an active Premium slot for the selected server.
{% endhint %}

## Personal Background Priority

A member with an active personal Premium membership can choose a background for their own stats and chart images from [Profile Appearance](/dashboard/profile).

When VoiceStats creates an image about that member, their personal choice is used before the server choice. If they have not selected a personal background, the server background is used. Server leaderboard images always use the server background.

In short:

1. A personal background is used for that member's own stats and charts.
2. Otherwise, the server background is used.
3. If neither is selected, VoiceStats uses its default background.

# Bot Profile

Customize how VoiceStats appears in your Discord server with a custom name, bio, avatar, and banner.

Bot Profile lets you change how VoiceStats looks in one Discord server. Open the server in the Dashboard and select **Manage server → Bot Profile**. An active Premium slot is required for that server.

## Live Preview

A live preview at the top of the page shows how the bot's profile card will appear in Discord. Changes are reflected in the preview immediately so you can review them before saving.

## Profile Details

### Bot Name

Set a custom display name for VoiceStats in your server. The name can be up to 32 characters. Leave it empty to use the default VoiceStats name.

### Bio

Write a short description that appears on the bot's profile card. The bio can be up to 190 characters.

Leave it empty to use the standard VoiceStats bio.

## Profile Images

### Avatar

Upload a custom avatar image. Accepted formats are PNG, JPG, and GIF. Each file can be up to 5 MB. Square images work best. Use **Remove** to switch back to the default avatar.

### Banner

Upload a custom banner image. Accepted formats are PNG, JPG, and GIF. Each file can be up to 5 MB. Wide images work best. Use **Remove** to delete the banner.

## Reset to Default

Select **Save changes** after reviewing the live preview. Use **Reset to default** to remove all customizations at once and return the bot's profile to the standard VoiceStats appearance. These actions only affect how the bot appears in the selected server.

## Update Cooldown

Saving changes or resetting the profile starts a one-hour update cooldown. If you try again before it expires, the Dashboard shows how many minutes remain.

{% hint style="info" %}
Bot Profile is exclusive to Premium servers.
{% endhint %}

# Giveaways

Create, manage, end, and reroll fair weighted giveaways from the VoiceStats Dashboard.

VoiceStats Giveaways lets server administrators run random draws with optional role, voice-time, and message-count requirements. Every entry represents one equal chance, so members with more entries have a proportionally higher chance of winning.

Open **Manage server → Modules → Giveaways** in the [VoiceStats Dashboard](https://voicestats.xyz/dashboard). You must own the server or have **Administrator** permission in Discord to create or manage giveaways.

## Giveaway Page

The page contains four sections:

* **Active giveaways** shows giveaways that are still accepting entries. From here you can edit, end, or delete a giveaway.
* **Giveaway templates** stores reusable configurations. From here you can create, edit, or delete a template.
* **Scheduled giveaways** shows giveaways that will be created later. From here you can create, edit, or delete a schedule.
* **Ended giveaways** shows completed giveaways in pages of 3. From here you can select new winners when a reroll is needed.

Use **New giveaway** to open the normal creation form. Templates and scheduled giveaways have their own create buttons and management forms.

<figure><img src="/files/3RuPyXcn6X4aJpgjukZH" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Basic Details

Every giveaway has the following main settings:

* **Prize:** The title shown in the giveaway message. It can contain up to 256 characters.
* **Channel:** The text or announcement channel where VoiceStats posts the giveaway.
* **End time:** Choose an exact date and time, or enter a duration such as `30m`, `10h`, or `1d 12h`. The minimum duration is 1 minute.
* **Winner count:** The number of different members selected when the giveaway ends.
* **Winner role:** An optional role given to the winners when the original giveaway ends.

<figure><img src="/files/BT8BA9YRozuJZfy2weOx" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The **Base template** selector at the top of the creation form is optional. Selecting one copies its saved values into the form so you can review or change them before creating the giveaway. It never creates a giveaway automatically.

<figure><img src="/files/yDQ3W9BtfzDRB5AchuoN" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

After creation, VoiceStats posts a giveaway message with **Entry** and **Participants** buttons. Members use **Entry** to join. Pressing it again shows their current entry status and the option to leave. **Participants** displays the members who are currently entered and how many entries each member has.

## Giveaway Appearance

**Embed color** is available on every plan. Choose a color from the reusable color picker or enter its `#RRGGBB` value. New giveaways use the standard VoiceStats giveaway color by default.

<figure><img src="/files/9bj4TFHd15GzYn4prgpl" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Premium servers can also customize the **Entry** button's style and emoji. The style can be Primary, Secondary, Success, or Danger. The emoji picker supports standard Unicode emojis and automatically loads custom emojis from the current server when opened. Select a custom server emoji directly from the picker.

The button label itself is not customizable.

<figure><img src="/files/jZJBx0pMrg9mMshT12Q1" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Giveaway Templates

Templates save a reusable giveaway configuration without creating or posting a giveaway. A template has a name and uses a **duration** such as `30m`, `10h`, or `1d 12h` instead of a fixed end date and time. The minimum duration is 1 minute.

You can create a template in either of these ways:

* Select **Create template** in the Giveaway templates section and complete its form.
* Complete the normal New giveaway form, select **Save as template**, and enter a template name.

Templates can be created, edited, and deleted only in the Dashboard. Use `/giveaway templates` to view them in Discord. Free servers can save 1 template, while Premium servers can save up to 100.

## Scheduled Giveaways

A scheduled giveaway creates and posts a new giveaway at the selected **start date and time**. Creating a schedule does not post the giveaway immediately.

The schedule form can optionally load a base template in the same way as the normal creation form. You can then change the copied settings before saving the schedule.

Turn on **Repeating** to run the schedule again after a whole-number interval measured in minutes. The minimum repeat interval is 1 minute. Leave Repeating off when the giveaway should run once.

Scheduled giveaways can be created, edited, and deleted only in the Dashboard. Use `/giveaway scheduled` to view them in Discord. This feature requires Premium and currently supports 1 scheduled giveaway per server.

## Entry Requirements

All entry rules are optional. A member must pass every configured rule unless a bypass role applies.

<figure><img src="/files/wJIHpcd0No0YbacxeBGb" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Required Roles

Choose the roles a member needs before entering. You can require:

* **All selected roles**, which is the default; or
* **Any one selected role**.

### Bypass Roles

A member with any selected bypass role can skip the required-role, required-voice-time, and required-message rules. A blacklist role still prevents entry even when the member also has a bypass role.

### Blacklist Roles

Members with any selected blacklist role cannot enter the giveaway.

### Required Voice Time

Require a minimum amount of total voice time recorded for the member in the server. Enter whole hours and minutes, such as `1h 15m`. The minimum is 1 minute and the maximum is 30,000 hours.

VoiceStats includes the member's currently active voice session when checking this requirement.

### Required Messages

Require a minimum total number of messages recorded for the member in the server. Enter a whole number between `1` and `1,000,000,000`. Messages excluded by the server's bot, member, or channel filters do not count toward this requirement.

## Extra Entries for Roles

Every eligible member normally receives **1 entry**. Extra-entry roles can change that amount in one of two ways.

<figure><img src="/files/Nh0XtvtPUh7GI17VfV2n" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Highest Role Value — Default

When **Stack role bonuses** is off, each configured number is the member's total entry count. If a member has more than one matching role, only the highest value is used.

Example:

* Role A: 10 entries
* Role B: 20 entries
* A member with both roles receives 20 entries.

### Stack Role Bonuses

When **Stack role bonuses** is on, every matching role is added to the member's normal entry.

Example:

* Normal entry: 1
* Role A: +10 entries
* Role B: +20 entries
* A member with both roles receives 31 entries.

The participant list shows each member's entry count, making these differences visible to the server.

## Role Changes After Joining

**Protect participants** is enabled by default.

* When enabled, later role changes are ignored and do not change or remove entries that members already received.
* When disabled, later role changes can update a member's entry count or remove the member when they no longer meet the rules.

<figure><img src="/files/DqanKxjt8hhW7Bc1Wglt" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

If a member is removed because they no longer qualify, becoming eligible again does not automatically rejoin them. They must press **Entry** again. Leaving the Discord server removes the member from active giveaways regardless of this setting.

Role changes are applied when VoiceStats receives them. Changes made while VoiceStats is unavailable are not recalculated later.

If a required, bypass, blacklist, or extra-entry role is deleted from a live-updating giveaway, VoiceStats automatically protects the entries that are already present. It does not rewrite the giveaway's saved role choices.

## Editing an Active Giveaway

The edit form shows all original settings, but only these fields can be changed:

* Prize
* Winner count
* Winner role
* End time or remaining duration
* Embed color and Entry button

The channel and all entry rules stay locked. To use different entry rules, delete the active giveaway and create a new one.

## Ending and Deleting

A giveaway ends automatically at its scheduled time. You can also use **End giveaway** to stop entries immediately and select the winners early.

In Discord, administrators can right-click the giveaway message and choose **Apps → End Giveaway** for the same immediate action without entering a message ID.

When the original giveaway ends, VoiceStats announces the winners in Discord and gives the configured winner role. A member can only occupy one winner position in the same draw.

Only active giveaways can be deleted. Deleting one permanently removes it and attempts to remove its Discord message. Ended giveaways are kept so they can be viewed and rerolled.

## Selecting New Winners

Use **Select new winners** on an ended giveaway when a replacement winner is needed.

Administrators can also right-click the ended giveaway message and choose **Apps → Reroll Giveaway**. This shortcut uses the giveaway's configured winner count and excludes the winners from the previous draw.

The **Exclude previous winners** option is enabled by default. It excludes only the winners from the immediately previous draw. Winners from earlier rounds can be selected again. Turning the option off allows the immediately previous winners to be selected again as well.

Rerolls announce the new winners but do not remove roles from earlier winners and do not automatically give the winner role to the new winners.

## Giveaway Language

* A giveaway created from the Dashboard uses the server language selected under **Manage server → Settings**.
* A giveaway created with `/giveaway create` uses the Discord language of the person who creates it.
* The public giveaway message keeps that language for its lifetime.
* Private button replies, participant pages, and error messages use the Discord language of the member interacting with the giveaway.

## Free and Premium Limits

<table data-search="false"><thead><tr><th>Limit</th><th align="right">Free</th><th align="right">Premium</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>Active giveaways</td><td align="right">5</td><td align="right">100</td></tr><tr><td>Giveaway templates</td><td align="right">1</td><td align="right">100</td></tr><tr><td>Scheduled giveaways</td><td align="right">❌</td><td align="right">✅</td></tr><tr><td>Winners per giveaway</td><td align="right">20</td><td align="right">100</td></tr><tr><td>Maximum duration</td><td align="right">30 days</td><td align="right">180 days</td></tr><tr><td>Required roles</td><td align="right">5</td><td align="right">100</td></tr><tr><td>Bypass roles</td><td align="right">5</td><td align="right">100</td></tr><tr><td>Blacklist roles</td><td align="right">5</td><td align="right">100</td></tr><tr><td>Extra-entry roles</td><td align="right">5</td><td align="right">100</td></tr><tr><td>Entries assigned to one role</td><td align="right">30</td><td align="right">300</td></tr><tr><td>Entry button style and emoji</td><td align="right">❌</td><td align="right">✅</td></tr></tbody></table>

# Role Rewards

Automatically reward members with Discord roles when they reach configured voice-time or message-count milestones.

Role Rewards lets a server award Discord roles for tracked voice activity and counted messages. The module is configured from the VoiceStats Dashboard.

## Requirements

VoiceStats needs the **Manage Roles** permission before the module can be enabled. The bot's highest role must also be above every configured reward role in the Discord role hierarchy.

## Configuration

1. Open **Role Rewards** under **Modules** in the dashboard.
2. Add a voice reward with a required duration, or a message reward with a required message count.
3. Optionally select a text channel for reward announcements.
4. Choose how earned roles should be retained.
5. Enable the module and save the settings.

Each reward must use a unique Discord role. Voice durations must be unique among voice rewards, and message counts must be unique among message rewards. Free servers can configure up to **5 total rewards** and Premium servers up to **50 total rewards**. If Premium ends, the first five configured rewards remain available. Roles that members already earned are not removed.

<figure><img src="/files/IHwIEkORxOgqjLtkyCI7" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Voice durations are entered as hours and minutes, such as `10 minutes`, `1 hour 30 minutes`, or `100 hours`. Message rewards use a whole message count, such as `100`, `1,000`, or `10,000 messages`.

<figure><img src="/files/IFKRElaotEtoj1NQMbPH" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

The announcement channel is optional. Select a text channel when you want VoiceStats to announce newly earned rewards, or use the **X** inside the selector to clear it.

<figure><img src="/files/EgQDyYIRQqOJJd3BZ75Z" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

## Role Retention

The dashboard provides two retention modes:

* **Keep every earned role:** Members keep all reward roles they reach.
* **Keep only the highest earned role:** When a member reaches a higher configured reward of the same activity type, VoiceStats grants the new role and removes the lower reward role of that type.

<figure><img src="/files/RMY2Tc3UsPsL4x1KrhVg" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Voice and message rewards are handled as separate groups. A member can therefore keep their highest voice reward and their highest message reward at the same time.

VoiceStats never removes a member's highest earned reward merely because their member or server statistics were reset. It also never performs a backwards downgrade. Lower reward roles are removed only when a new, higher reward is earned while **Keep only the highest earned role** is enabled.

## When Rewards Are Evaluated

Voice rewards are checked after a member leaves a tracked voice channel or moves to another tracked channel. Message rewards are checked as members send counted messages. A member who has already passed a voice milestone receives the reward after their next tracked voice activity.

Activity excluded by the server's bot, member, or channel filters does not count toward rewards.

## Troubleshooting

If a reward is not granted, check the following:

* The module is enabled.
* VoiceStats has **Manage Roles**.
* The reward role is below the bot's highest role and is not managed by another integration.
* The member performed the relevant tracked activity after reaching the milestone.
* The member does not already have that reward role.

If announcements are missing but roles are still granted, verify that the selected text channel exists and VoiceStats can view and send messages in it.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/dashboard/role-rewards.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Web Leaderboard

Share your server's top voice and message activity on a dedicated VoiceStats leaderboard page.

Web Leaderboard gives your server a dedicated page for its voice and message rankings. Every server with VoiceStats has a leaderboard page at:

`https://voicestats.xyz/leaderboard/<server-id>`

Settings are managed from **Modules → Web Leaderboard** in the VoiceStats Dashboard.

## What the Page Shows

Visitors can switch between **Voice** and **Messages** rankings and choose one of the following time periods:

* **All time**
* **30 days**
* **7 days**
* **1 day**

{% hint style="success" %}
All four Web Leaderboard periods, including **All time**, are available to Free and Premium servers.
{% endhint %}

Each ranking lists the top 10 members with their display name, avatar, position, and activity value. The leaderboard data refreshes every 5 minutes.

## Your Stats

Members who sign in with Discord can see their own rank and activity value alongside the leaderboard. Visitors who are not signed in are shown an option to sign in.

## Personal Card Color

Every signed-in member can choose the color used on their own Web Leaderboard cards. Open the account menu in the top-right corner, select **Profile**, choose a color under **Web Leaderboard card**, and save.

This setting is free and applies whenever that member appears on a public or private Web Leaderboard. It does not change other members' cards.

See [Profile Appearance](/dashboard/profile) for more information.

## Voice Time Format

Voice durations use the server's selected [Time Units](/dashboard/time-units) format. Changing this setting updates how voice values are written on the Web Leaderboard; it does not change recorded activity.

## Role Rewards

If the server has voice or message role rewards configured, they are displayed on the leaderboard page so visitors can see the available milestones.

## Leaderboard Access

The leaderboard is **public by default** — anyone with the link can view it without signing in.

Turn on **Make leaderboard private** to restrict access. When the leaderboard is private, only people who can access the server's dashboard can view it. A visitor who is not signed in is redirected to Discord login and returned to the leaderboard afterward.

You can switch between public and private at any time without changing the leaderboard address.

## Custom Banner

Premium servers can replace the default server banner with a custom image URL. Enter an HTTPS image URL in the **Banner image URL** field. Leave it empty to use the Discord server banner.

{% hint style="info" %}
Custom Web Leaderboard banner is exclusive to Premium servers.
{% endhint %}

This custom URL changes the banner on the Web Leaderboard webpage only. The preset backgrounds used in images generated by the bot are managed separately under [Banners](/dashboard/banners).

# Pin Leaderboard

Publish auto-updating voice and message ranking panels in your server's text channels with VoiceStats Pin Leaderboard.

Pin Leaderboard displays your server's voice or message activity as continuously updated ranking panels in selected text channels. The dashboard provides separate **Voice leaderboard** and **Message leaderboard** sections.

You can configure panels for the following time ranges:

* **All time** — The complete activity ranking.
* **Last 30 days** — A continuously rolling monthly view.
* **Last 7 days** — A continuously rolling weekly view.
* **Last 1 Days** — A focused daily activity view.

For each time range, select the destination text channel where the ranking panel should be published. Use the **X** inside the channel selector to turn off a panel. Panels are automatically updated every 15 minutes with the latest voice stats.

All configuration is managed via the VoiceStats Dashboard.

### Panel Language

Generated leaderboard messages use the server language configured under **Manage server → Settings**. The value shown on this page is read-only; Pin Leaderboard does not have its own language setting.

### Reporting Timezone

Panels use the server's timezone setting configured on the **Timezone** page. This is displayed as a read-only reference so you know which timezone boundaries are being used.

### Auto-Deactivation

Panels may be automatically disabled if certain conditions occur. When this happens, the dashboard will display a warning explaining the reason:

* **Missing permissions** — The bot no longer has permission to send messages in the configured channel.
* **Channel deleted** — The destination channel was deleted from Discord.
* **Premium expired** — The server's Premium subscription has ended.

To re-enable a deactivated panel, resolve the underlying issue and assign a new destination channel.

### Premium Tier Limits

The maximum number of active panels that can be configured simultaneously is determined by the server's Premium Tier level:

* **Tier 1:** Maximum of **1** panel.
* **Tier 2:** Maximum of **2** panels.
* **Tier 3:** Maximum of **4** panels.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/dashboard/pin-leaderboard.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**💎 Note:** This feature is exclusive to Premium servers.
{% endhint %}

# Stats

Understand all-time statistics and recent activity charts in VoiceStats.

VoiceStats provides stats cards and rankings for overall activity, while the Dashboard activity pages use charts to show how your server changes over recent periods.

## All-Time Statistics Are Free

All-time statistics and leaderboards are available to both Free and Premium servers. They can show the complete history VoiceStats has recorded for your server.

You can view all-time activity through:

* User, server, and channel stats cards
* Voice, channel, and message rankings
* The [Web Leaderboard](/dashboard/web-leaderboard)

See [User Commands](/general/commands/user-commands), [Server Commands](/general/commands/server-commands), and [Channel Commands](/general/commands/channel-commands) for the available stats and ranking commands.

{% hint style="info" %}
Charts do not offer an all-time view. Free servers can use the standard chart periods. Premium adds custom periods from 1 to 30 days.
{% endhint %}

## Dashboard Activity Pages

* [Voice Activity](/dashboard/stats/voice-activity) shows voice time and participation.
* [Message Activity](/dashboard/stats/message-activity) shows message totals and participating members.
* [Member Activity](/dashboard/stats/member-activity) shows member count, joins, and leaves.

# Voice Activity

See how long members spend in voice channels and how voice participation changes over time.

The **Voice Activity** page shows how your community uses voice channels during the selected period.

## What You Can See

The summary shows:

* Total time spent in voice channels
* Number of different members who joined voice channels
* Number of voice sessions being tracked now

The chart compares voice time with the number of participating members. Move over the chart to see the values for a specific time.

## Choosing a Period

Free servers can view **1 day**, **14 days**, and **30 days**. Premium servers can also choose a custom period from 1 to 30 days.

Changing the period only changes what this page displays. It does not change the server's default period or remove earlier statistics.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/dashboard/voice-activity.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Filters set on the [Bot Filter](/dashboard/bot-filter), [Member Filter](/dashboard/member-filter), [Channel Filter](/dashboard/channel-filter), and [Role Filter](/dashboard/role-filter) pages affect which new activity is counted.
{% endhint %}

# Message Activity

See how many messages members send and how participation changes over time.

The **Message Activity** page shows how active your community is in text channels during the selected period.

## What You Can See

The summary shows:

* Total messages sent
* Number of different members who sent messages
* Messages sent during the busiest period shown on the chart

The chart compares message totals with the number of participating members.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/dashboard/message-activity.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Filters set on the [Bot Filter](/dashboard/bot-filter), [Member Filter](/dashboard/member-filter), [Channel Filter](/dashboard/channel-filter), and [Role Filter](/dashboard/role-filter) pages affect which new activity is counted.
{% endhint %}

# Member Activity

The **Member Activity** page shows how your server's member count changes during the selected period.

## What You Can See

The summary shows:

* Latest recorded member count
* Members who joined
* Members who left

The chart shows the member count together with joins and leaves. Move over the chart to see the values for a specific time.

If no member change has been recorded yet, the page explains that activity will appear after the first join or leave.

## Choosing a Period

Free servers can view **1 day**, **14 days**, and **30 days**. Premium servers can also choose a custom period from 1 to 30 days.

{% hint style="info" %}
Changing the period only changes what this page displays. It does not remove earlier statistics.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/dashboard/member-activity.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

# Bot Filter

Configure the VoiceStats bot filter via the dashboard to easily hide the voice statistics of other Discord bots from your server's leaderboards.

## Record Bot Statistics

Choose whether activity from other Discord bots is included in voice-time and message statistics. When enabled, bots can accumulate voice time and message counts and appear in the related rankings. Turning the setting off stops new bot activity from being counted; it does not delete previously saved statistics.

When bot statistics are enabled, activity from music bots, recording bots, and any other active bots in voice channels is included in the server's statistics.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/dashboard/bot-filter.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**💎 Note:** This feature is exclusive to Premium servers.
{% endhint %}

# Member Filter

Learn in detail how to exclude specific Discord members from VoiceStats voice statistics and leaderboards using the web management dashboard.

## Members Blacklist

If you do not want specific members' voice or message activity to be counted, you can exclude them using this filter.

Adding a member stops new voice and message activity from being recorded. It does not reset or reduce statistics recorded earlier. You can choose whether historical data remains visible from the [Visibility](/dashboard/visibility) page.

### How to add?

Enter the Discord User ID of the member you want to filter into the input field and click the **+ Add member** button. Don't forget to save your settings.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/dashboard/member-filter.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**💎 Limit Info:** Free servers can add a maximum of 5 members to the blacklist. For [Premium](/general/premium#plan-comparison) servers, this limit is increased up to 100 members.
{% endhint %}

# Channel Filter

Configure the channel filter via the dashboard to exclude specific Discord channels, like private rooms or staff chats, from VoiceStats tracking.

## Channels Blacklist

If you do not want activity in specific voice or text channels to be tracked, you can add those channels to the filter. For example, you can exclude an AFK voice channel, a private staff room, or a text channel that should not contribute to message statistics.

Adding a channel stops new activity in that channel from being recorded. It does not reset or reduce voice time that was recorded earlier. You can choose whether that historical data remains visible from the [Visibility](/dashboard/visibility) page.

### How to add?

Select the channel you want to exclude from the **Select a channel** menu, then click the **+ Add channel** button. Don't forget to save your settings.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/dashboard/channel-filter.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**💎 Limit Info:** Free servers can add a maximum of **5 channels** to the blacklist. For [Premium](/general/premium) servers, this limit is increased up to **100 channels**.
{% endhint %}

# Role Filter

Configure the role filter via the dashboard to stop tracking new voice and message activity for members with selected Discord roles.

## Roles Blacklist

If you do not want members with specific roles to contribute to voice or message statistics, you can add those roles to the filter. A member is filtered when they have at least one selected role.

Adding a role stops new voice and message activity for matching members from being recorded. It does not delete statistics recorded earlier, and those historical entries can remain visible in rankings. Removing the role from the filter resumes tracking for future activity.

### How to add?

Select the role you want to exclude from the **Select a role** menu, then click the **+ Add role** button. Don't forget to save your settings. The `@everyone` role cannot be filtered.

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/dashboard/role-filter.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**💎 Limit Info:** Free servers can add a maximum of **5 roles** to the blacklist. For [Premium](/general/premium) servers, this limit is increased up to **100 roles**.
{% endhint %}

# Visibility

Configure visibility settings via the VoiceStats dashboard. Manage how historical entries, filtered members, and deleted channels are presented in rankings.

The Visibility settings page allows you to configure which historical entries VoiceStats presents in rankings and channel breakdowns via the dashboard. These controls solely affect the presentation of data; they never delete recorded voice activity or alter the total server statistics.

### Settings and Functions

The following configurations determine how statistics are filtered for users and channels.

#### Filtered Ranking Entries

Allows you to keep tracking filters separate from the way existing historical data is presented.

* Hide filtered members and channels: When enabled, filtered members are removed from user rankings and channel member lists. Likewise, filtered channels are removed from channel rankings and member channel breakdowns.

This also recalculates the rank shown on user statistics cards without filtered members. Turning the option off makes historical entries visible again, but does not resume tracking for members or channels that are still filtered.

<figure><img src="/files/dgAbetNXWNVmOMAi9neJ" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

#### Deleted Channel History

Allows you to manage historical voice time statistics for a Discord channel even after it has been deleted.

* Show deleted channels: When disabled, deleted channels are hidden from channel rankings and member channel breakdowns. However, their recorded time remains fully included in the server's overall total.

Deleted channel history is shown by default. Hiding it only cleans up rankings and member channel lists; it never removes the recorded history.

Configure statistics and chart periods via the VoiceStats dashboard. Easily manage default time windows and customize data presentation for your server.

The Periods settings page allows you to configure the default time windows VoiceStats uses for statistics and generated charts. These settings do not delete or limit any stored voice activity.

### Statistics Period

Used by voice, channel, and ranking commands when no specific period is specified by the user.

* Last day: Uses the most recent 24 hours.
* Last 14 days: Keeps rankings focused on recent activity.
* All time: Uses the server's complete recorded history.
* Custom: Allows you to choose a rolling window from 1 to 30 days.

<figure><img src="/files/scDKydfeSUUaNrlImLzF" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Chart Period

Used as the default date range whenever VoiceStats generates a statistical chart.

* Last day: Builds charts from the most recent 24 hours.
* Last 14 days: Provides a compact view of recent trends.
* Last 30 days: Shows a broader monthly trend.
* Custom: Allows you to choose a rolling window from 1 to 30 days.

{% hint style="success" %}
**All-time statistics are free.** The **All time** statistics period is available to every server and uses the complete history VoiceStats has recorded. Charts do not offer an all-time view.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/xt8mrtZhnu2DQaGEm41k" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/dashboard/periods.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
**💎 Note:** Custom period options are exclusive to Premium servers.
{% endhint %}

# Time Units

Choose how voice durations are written in the bot and on your server's Web Leaderboard.

## Time Unit Format

You can customize how time units are displayed in your server's voice statistics. This setting affects all voice time displays throughout the bot.

This changes only written duration values. It does not change generated charts, reporting periods, or recorded voice activity. The selected format is also used for voice values on the server's Web Leaderboard.

### Options

Select the format that best suits your community and save:

* **Full format** — e.g., `1y, 2mo, 3w, 2d, 5h, 30m`
* **Month format** — e.g., `1mo, 5d, 12h`
* **Week format** — e.g., `2w, 3d, 8h`
* **Day format** — e.g., `2d, 10h, 30m`
* **Hour format** — e.g., `72.5h, 30m, 10s`

<figure><img src="https://cdn.voicestats.xyz/images/dashboard/time-units.png" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %}
Time Units is available to both Free and Premium servers. Server administrators can change it from the Dashboard or the bot's `/settings` menu.
{% endhint %}

# Timezone

Learn how to configure your server's timezone via the VoiceStats dashboard and synchronize statistics with your local time perfectly.

The timezone setting ensures that the dates and times displayed in the voice statistics and charts are synchronized with your server's local time. All time-related statistics will be adjusted accordingly.

### How to Change?

Use the **Timezone** dropdown menu or search for the timezone that matches your server's primary region (e.g., `UTC+03:00 · Istanbul`) from the list, then save.

# Changelog

New updates and improvements

{% updates format="full" %}
{% update date="2026-08-13" tags="bot,website" %}

## :bar\_chart: New: Member Activity & Role Filter!

Hello everyone! This update brings two new features at once: **Member Activity**, which tracks your server's growth, and **Role Filter**, which lets you exclude stats from roles you choose! :partying\_face:

### :busts\_in\_silhouette: Member Activity

You can now track your server's member count, joins, and leaves both from a command and from the dashboard.

* **/members chart:** View your server's member count, join, and leave graph right in Discord.
* **New Dashboard Page:** The "Member Activity" page shows the same graph, along with total joins and leaves for your selected period.
* **Period Selection:** 1-day, 14-day, and 30-day ranges, plus a custom period with Premium — the same setup as our other stats pages.

### :shield: Role Filter

If you don't want the stats of members with certain roles to be counted at all, you can now set that up with a single click.

* **How It Works:** Members with a role you've added to the filter won't have their new voice and message activity recorded.
* **Existing Data Stays Safe:** The filter only stops new activity — a member's previously accumulated stats and ranking entries are not deleted.
* **Three Ways to Manage It:** Manage it from the "Role" filter page on the dashboard, with the `/filter roles add` and `/filter roles remove` commands, or from the "Role Filter" section in the `/settings` menu.
* You can add up to 100 filtered roles per server.

Enjoy your voice chats! :green\_heart:

## :tada: New: Giveaway System!

Hello everyone! One of the systems we put the most work into is finally live: a brand new, end-to-end customizable **Giveaway** system! :partying\_face:

### :desktop: Two Ways to Create

You can create a giveaway either with a slash command or through the dashboard.

* **Via command:** Use `/giveaway create` to quickly start a giveaway by setting the prize, channel, duration, winner count, and more all at once.
* **Via dashboard:** The new "Giveaways" page lets you configure the same settings through a much easier interface, with even more detail available — for more complex giveaways, we recommend the dashboard.

### :bookmark\_tabs: Templates & Scheduled Giveaways

* **Giveaway Templates:** Save your frequently used giveaway settings as a template and reuse them with a single click.
* **Scheduled Giveaways:** Schedule your giveaways for a future date, you can also set up recurring giveaways.

### :microphone2: Entry Requirements

You can add as many entry requirements to your giveaways as you'd like:

* **Voice Time Requirement:** The biggest feature of this update! Create giveaways only members who've reached a voice duration you set can enter.
* **Message Count Requirement:** Limit giveaways to members who've reached a minimum message count.
* **Required Roles:** Restrict entry to members with specific roles.
* **Bypass Roles:** Members with these roles skip the role, voice time, and message requirements entirely and can enter directly.
* **Blacklist Roles:** Members with these roles can never enter, no matter what.

### :star2: Roles That Grant Extra Entries

You can give members with certain roles extra entries into the giveaway. With "Stack role bonuses," you can either add the bonuses from every eligible role a member holds, or keep it so only the highest-value role bonus applies.

### :art: Visual Customization

* **Embed Color:** Customize the giveaway embed's color.
* **Entry Button:** Customize the button's color and emoji.

Enjoy your voice chats! :green\_heart:

## :speech\_balloon: New: Message Statistics!

Hello everyone! Today we're rolling out one of the biggest additions yet: VoiceStats now tracks message activity right alongside your voice stats! :partying\_face:

### :bar\_chart: Message Stats, Just Like Voice

Message activity is now tracked with the same ranking, chart, and stats structure you're already used to from voice.

* **/message stats** — displays a member's message statistics.
* **/message ranking** — displays the server's message ranking.
* **/message chart** — displays a member's message chart.
* **/message server chart** — displays the server's message chart.
* **/message server stats** — displays server-wide message statistics.

### :desktop: New Dashboard Page: Message Activity

A new "Message Activity" page has been added right next to "Voice Activity" on the dashboard.

* **Overview Graph:** Total messages, unique senders, and messages during the busiest period for your selected time range.
* **Period Selection:** 1-day, 14-day, and 30-day ranges, plus a custom period with Premium — the exact same setup as voice stats.

### :link: Shared Filters

Message stats use the same Bot, Member, Channel, and Role filters you've already set up for voice stats — configure them once, and they apply everywhere.

### :gear: Module Renames

Two existing modules have been expanded to cover messages as well, and renamed to reflect that:

* **Voice Role Rewards → Role Rewards:** reward milestones can now be based on voice time or message count.
* **Pin Voice Leaderboard → Pin Leaderboard:** pinned leaderboards can now show voice or message rankings.

That's not all we've shipped! Our new giveaway system, member charts, and role filter are already live too — we'll cover each of them in detail in upcoming announcements.

Enjoy your voice chats! :green\_heart:

## :rocket: VoiceStats V2 is Live!

Hello everyone! After a long stretch of work behind the scenes, VoiceStats V2 is finally here! This update brings some of our most requested features to life. :partying\_face:

### :trophy: Highly Requested Feature: Voice Time Rewards

The most requested feature is finally here! Members can now automatically earn role rewards once they reach the voice duration you set.

* **Easy Setup:** Turn the module on or off with a single click from the new "Voice role rewards" page on the dashboard.
* **Duration-Based Milestones:** Set a target duration in hours and minutes for each role; the role is granted automatically once a member reaches it.
* **Role Retention Setting:** Choose whether members keep every role they've earned, or only their highest (most recently reached) reward.
* **Announcement Channel:** Set a text channel to automatically announce when a member earns a reward.
* Free servers can configure up to 3 rewards, Premium servers up to 30.

### :bar\_chart: Server Graph on the Dashboard

You can now track your server's voice activity at a glance on the web dashboard, no command needed.

* **Overview Graph:** An activity graph showing total voice duration and unique user count has been added to the "Overview" page.
* **Instant Numbers:** See total voice duration, unique user count, and currently active sessions at a glance, along with when peak activity happened.
* **Period Selection:** Switch between 1-day, 14-day, and 30-day ranges with a single click; with Premium, you can also set a custom period like the last X days.

### :loud\_sound: New Command: /channel chart

You can now look at a single voice channel's stats on its own. Use `/channel chart` to view the duration and user graph for a channel you pick, complete with period and timezone info.

Alongside these, we've also shipped several bug fixes, minor UI tweaks, and general system optimizations.

## :rocket: MAJOR UPDATE: A Completely New Website & Dashboard!

Hey everyone! We’ve been building (and rebuilding) heavily behind the scenes, and today we’re thrilled to launch the brand new VoiceStats website and dashboard.

Our main goal with this rewrite was simple: to deliver a much cleaner, faster experience today, and to build a stronger foundation for all the massive features we plan to add in the future.

### :art: A Completely New Website

The website and dashboard have been fully redesigned to make everything easier to understand and navigate.

* We are officially saying goodbye to the old gray layout. It has been replaced by a modern, eye-catching dark theme featuring sleek bluish and greenish tones.
* A complete redesign of the Home, Commands, Premium, and Status pages.
* Clearer structure, better typography, and a significantly smoother browsing experience.

### :sparkles: The Dashboard Experience

The dashboard is now fully modular, ensuring you never get lost while configuring your server.

* Instead of cramped settings, we introduced a modular, card-based layout that gives elements more breathing room and makes finding specific toggles a breeze.
* Since the entire core was rewritten from scratch, page load times and settings updates are now blazing fast.
* Managing your filters (Bot, Member, Channel), Time Units, and the newly released "Pin Voice Leaderboard" is now more intuitive than ever.

Everything is live right now! Explore the new experience here: <https://voicestats.xyz/>

If you encounter any issues or would like to share your thoughts on the new design, you can send a message to the [#📝・feedbacks](https://discord.gg/KjhFNbfyAZ) channel.&#x20;

## New Feature: Pin Voice Leaderboard is Live!

Hello everyone! We have finally released the highly requested and long-awaited **Pin Voice Leaderboard** system! :rocket:

With this new feature, you can set up voice ranking leaderboards that automatically update and stay pinned in your designated text channels.

### :sparkles: System Details

* **Automatic Updates:** Pinned leaderboards automatically refresh every 15 minutes to reflect the most up-to-date voice data.
* **Flexible Time Periods:** You can create custom leaderboards for any time period you desire, such as "All Time", "Monthly", "Weekly", or "Daily".
* **Easy Management:** You can configure this entire system in seconds directly through our web Dashboard.

### :file\_folder: Advanced Channel Selection

Along with this major feature, we have also made the channel selection menus on our web dashboard much more user-friendly. Now, when selecting channels in both the **Pin Voice Leaderboard** settings and the **Channel Filter** system, they will no longer appear in a random order. All channels will be listed exactly as they are ordered in your Discord server, complete with their categories.

You can visit our web dashboard right now to integrate these new features into your server.
